If you go into the training centre and develop combat experience.  How does this effect you and when.  Is there some way of seeing how much it is contributing. On a unit you can see the HQ contributions. Level Contributions etc. Is it the same thing as xp points you get when doing special ops. If you develop combat Experience will the XP points just be more.

That is correct, but there is an added bonus. Since EXP tournaments give points based on, well, EXP earned, this directly increases your ability to perform in this tournament. However, I haven't found a way to see the bonus being directly applied, at least in a similar manner to what happens when looking at units.

Aside: Using an EXP booster during the tournament will give similar gains. Usually you can get most of the diamond price of an EXP booster (8 hour version) back through using it this way, and you get the extra stuff on top of that.
