Commander..Thank you for your feedback...We value the feedback we recieve from our Soldiers...However, the SOs do give your units certain "boost" or increse in strength..Many enjoy the additional strength..or increase that SOs provide...You can use SOs for just about every aspect of game play...From additional unit strength when raiding to increasing resource production.storage...You can/have a certain SO for S.Ds, that increases your unit strength and thus decreasing unit loss...The "trick" is to upgrade your SOs as far as you can,,,

Concerning the Combine Black Ops Events...I believe there should be an award at the end for Combine Rank.  Sure you wins rewards of defectors and regular Hiring Bonds.  But there is a Catagory in the weekly rankings and should have a combine reward for placing in the top 10.  What do you say Plarium?
