Update Highlights 8.40

Hello, Raiders!

Update 8.40 is coming soon. Although it is quite small, the balance changes it contains will be of interest to all. Apart from Minaya and Queen Eva receiving their buffs, we will also adjust how our Live Arena Artifact Sets (Impulse and Zeal) work. Both will become 2-piece Sets and will see some minor changes to the bonuses they grant.

On top of that, we are introducing some new Champions as well. You can find the details in the tables below!

I believe the changes to the two gearsets is axcatly what is needed for them to see use at all. Good call.

Now consider doing that to some of the other gearsets too. 

Example could be: Curing as 2 piece set: 12% healing.

Example could be: Instinct as 2 piece set: 6% SPD + 12-15% ignore DEF.

Example could be: Toxic as 2 piece set: 35% chance to place 2.5% Poison OR 20% chance to place 5% Poison

Many more sets to fix like this and for us to toy around with in combos with other sets.

only really true if you're extremely far into the game where grinding gear dungeons presents diminishing returns versus other areas of the game (SD/Shogun, for example)

grinding it out through the dungeons is still going to be very much a thing (and a worthwhile one) for those progressing/building out their accounts - which is the vast majority of players. grinding gear dungeons outside of fusions/specific events has become less of a thing for efficient late/end game players for awhile now.

Just a quick note:

Consider a free re-gear -- assuming the current, active one is expired.

People using Impulse in speed tunes will have to make adjustments through no fault of their own.

it's almost as if our goals in game change are our account strength changes which means time spent in certain areas of the game becomes more valuable than others as said account strength improves :)

we've always been limited by time/resources which has always necessitated figuring out where best to spend our time/resources in game. 

gear grinding in dungeons (and forge) is still very much the first & most likely place the majority of the player base is finding upgrades to their account.

If you're still farming dungeons you're not late-endgame, if you're not farming dungeons you're late-endgame. dungeons are only devauled from players who already have whatever they need from them. i don't see how this is even arguable.

Talked about this in our clans discord a few days ago and the conclusion was:

Considering to make more gearsets 2-piece sets will make for so many new combos of gear, making the game much more interesting.

I remember back when Lifesteal was the IT. Lifesteal was the key for CB, back 4'ish years ago.

Imagine Lifesteal as a 2-piece set now: 2-Piece set // Heals 20% of the damage dealt.

And it suddenly becomes an extremely useful set piece in combo with Immortal etc etc for PvE.

More 2-set piece reworks please !
