What's probably causing your problem is when you finished the mission. For this particular mission, you have to equip and level up the artifacts you have when you receive the mission, not before it. You have to complete the mission when you get it. 

I swapped to a 2nd set of Life Armor I've recently farmed, it was +4 upon equipping it, credit was not given for the quest when items were equipped to the rare support. So I upgraded said gear to +5 from +4, and I still do not have credit for it.

I know for certain the set I've put on was obtained after I've received this mission (I farmed it today.) However I'm still not getting credit.

Does the armor set have to be completely at +0 before equipping to this Rare Support Character? I would have thought going Above +4 would still count, as it says +4 or higher.

Edit: Upon testing, it appears equipping a never been upgraded item, then upgrading it to level 4, gave credit. 

A little frustrating as the quest itself did not signify that the equipment needed to be base level before upgrading, it lead me to believe that upgrading past level 4 would still give credit.

Well, it was expensive (About 300,000 coins, after all the gear shuffling and re-equipping), but I got my answer.

Edit2: Final Question: Is there any way to get maybe a hint/extra text added to quests like this to inform players that the items need to be base level before being equipped then upgraded? The Wording on the quest is what lead me to believe I could just continue to upgrade the gear I had on to satisfy the equipment upgrade requirements.

Glad you figured it out. Yeah I know some of the wording can be dodgy and vague. I'll bring this up with the support team but they should be working on it already! We've had a few cases like this so there should be future improvements to the game.

This is very frustrating.  As Crypticone stated, the mission only says, "Upgrade 6 life artifacts to level 4 or higher”.  It doesn't say it needs to be equipped first (which it does apparently).  It doesn't say it needs to be equipped on a rare support character (which it also requires).  I went round and round on this trying to figure out why the mission wasn't updating.  If a condition is required, it should be stated in the mission wording.  This is very lazy.

OP said mission is: "Upgrade 6 Life Artifacts equipped on a Rare Support Type Champion to level 4 or higher".

So yes it does says that artifacts need to be equiped 1st. And yes it does says that artifatcs need to be equiped on rare support champion.

Upgrade -> eqiped .Means artifacts has to be equiped and then upgraded.
