I bought the Forge Pass and it worked well for me.  I had +50% HP and +50% silver for 3-4 weeks in all parts of the game.  I won every reward including a lot of energy.  I paid $20 and will do it again.  

I try to be f2p but will spend for things that make the game more fun.
