On second analysis - looks like it's slightly different this time.

You can do one of the following:

• Champ Chase (15) + Summon Rush (5)
• Summon Rush (20)
• Champ Chase (5) + Summon Rush (5) + Win two tournaments (10)
• Champ Chase (15) + Summon Rush (20) + Skip three events/tournaments

AND all events/tournaments

So not horrible, can skip chase entirely or just get first milestone in summon rush. So fusion can probably be done easily with just green shards if needed.

I get that as 115 shards meaning complete every other event and you can make do with just first milesone on summon rush?

At mid level do I have a reasonable chance to succeed?  I dont want to waste resources chasing something I cant win.  

Only you can answer that question. Generally, you'll need something around the following to have a decent chance of success:

• The ability to reliably (>90% success rate) farm all four dungeons at level 16 or level 20
• The ability to complete all your daily and advanced quests
• A stockpile of shards, using the conversion metric of 1 sacred ~= 5 void ~= 50 ancient ~= 500 mystery shards, you'll need somewhere around 10 sacred shards (or the equivalent based on the aforementioned math)
• Real-world time to actually be able to grind through all of that. Ballpark, we're talking somewhere around 40 hours of real-world time.

Note that these are all extremely back-of-the-envelope numbers. Take them with a grain of salt.

Shards are a deal breaker for me.  

How many green shards do you have? The schedule is very friendly with what appears to be good overlap of events. 

I havea 1,616 now.  I have a poor Fire Knight team.  

Who is your fk20 team. I would try and start fusion events, this one appears quite f2p friendly.

I decided i didnt want to do golem so pulled a few greens to finish the fusion, one of the most ftp friendly fusions to be fair

Are you guys going to build him? Not sure i get his kit really? seems a niche arena champ maybe?

Just finished Golem and DD, skipped Chase instead :)  No plans to build, hoping a CC comes up with a niche glass canon build for a Hydra comp. Will sit waiting in queue to be claimed for future chase points until then.  I am only building S-Tier Arena and Hydra champs for now.  Only exception is I may finally build the niche Cardinal comp, seems a nobrainer I am just too lazy.
