when you say "in storage" what do you mean? 

do you mean extra artifacts that you could see when you click the artifacts or in the mail box?

if its in the mail box, those are timed and will disappear after a certain time limit

I would also like to clarify as this does seem strange if it were to happen on your artifact storage. If you want someone to check out your account, please submit a ticket to support.
