Arbiter acquisition (super lame!)

I wont ask "why" the progression for Arbiter is gated to drive monetization. There has to be another idea you all can come up with and still earn your preciou$. Perhaps make it something fun and entertaining like, I don't know... a game? The current way would'nt be so bad, if a player earned more than like 2 medals. Then have to fight teams/players that are obviously P2W (Teams full of mythical champs, all the rarest champs, all best gear)
It seems like it's starting to get to a point where you are only fighting the players that spent a lot of money or played for many years. I can beat 1 team, 2 teams if im lucky (classic arena) before I have to wait 15m, or spend gems to refresh. A new player would most likely be gated from obtaining Arbiter"."
Perhaps just win several matches and ditch the whole affinity thing. Or once a player has reached a certain tier, their defence remains in that tier permanently. If a player reaches highest rank, why do you allow their defence to be in the lowest tier? wtf? what is the purpose of the tier system?
