Hes not a bad choice to 60, especially if you're low on other good options.  Getting a banner on him for extra speeds helps quite a bit.

Your goal is dragon 20, even if it is a horribly slow run.  Better gear will help you tremenousky everywhere.  I'm certain I have the worst virgin dragon 20 team ever,

If you are struggling with staying alive as you climb, he is a very strong early-game support who is easy to max out due to being a Rare, and he is tremendously helpful in early FK due to the triple hit A1.  Build him as fast as you can and when you get a decent set of Relentless, put it on him.  

As far as "bring him everywhere", I would qualify that with a "for now".  His value will fall off as you climb, and you will acquire better toons as you progress.  I have not used my Apothecary in years, but I have no regrets about maxing his build back in the day. 

Dragon 20 should definitely be the focus.

- high khatun  [pvp, pve]

I'm in agreement with Apothecary ESPECIALLY if you have won a Relentless set from any tournaments.

However I would suggest you post your Roster just to get the best feedback

biggest piece of advice i can give based on this is stop spending so many resources into champions you're not using. you should focus on whoever you're currently bringing to 60 (i agree that apothecary would be a good choice) and any champions being levelled up to use as food; everyone else can and should be ignored. there's no reason to level them and certainly no need to ascend or awaken them.

60 rearguard sergeant if you're having trouble surviving.  try to get speed and accuracy on her.  100 crit rate *if you can*, but focus on speed/acc first.  i think she'll be better than apothacary.

60 coldheart eventually, she's great in a lot of lvl 20 dungeons.

never 60 warpriest or chaplain, waste of resources. i wouldn't even keep building them.

ruel you can wait on, he'll be hard for you to use with the rest of your roster. if you ever get an aoe hex champ, then build ruel as a nuker.

faceless is pretty strong and can be used in faction wars as well as other places.  he's a strong hitter if built right, so consider leveling him after rearguard/coldheart.

high katune is fine at 50.  hopefully you pull another reviver sometime in the near future.

apothacary is fine at 50 too in my opinion.  most support champs don't need to be 60 early on, especially since you don't have the banners to stick on them probably.

the starter champs are all good at 60.  elhain or athel you could bring up and put in lifesteal gear, both will do well for you in different dungeons.

a good chunk of those rares i'd use as food and never gear.  the champs used for fusions you can stick in your vault for later leveling/fusing.

I have dropped Vildrax as an hex aoe... but at 40s he dies like a baby...

btw many of foodders are just for faction wars or guardians

Just an FYI: Ruel does not need an AoE Hex Toon.  Ruel is an AoE Hex Toon.  He was one of the first ones.

Ruel can set himself up for the big A2, but he is not a toon you should focus on at your stage of the game.
