These are my champs that HH rates 5* for Hydra.  Does the new fusion champ offer anything better than I already have?

Depends on his damage multipliers.  For Example, if his A3 does damage based on Enemy Max HP, he becomes a must get for Hydra.

Hard pass for me unless he hits like Trunda

Doesnt by any accounts.  Might still grab for something to do.  Also the ignore life barrier is interesting with Hard Mode FW soon.

Since we have had a couple of old-school fusions in a row, will Lysanthir be a frag collector?

Those have historically been pretty easy to complete unless they screw around with how points are earned again.  The last frag collector toon had that big Dungeon Diver gotcha in the middle of it.

If I understand the fusion plan correctly there is no champion chase, but 2(!) summon rush events this time. What a joke -- this alone makes it an easy skip for F2P players like me -- and a big step further to deleting the account.

Everything I've seen so far is they're pretty meh.

Quite a few of those are really not great for Hydra. You really shouldn't just use the ratings to judge whether or not the champ brings value. Look at what your teams are lacking, and see if this champ fills in any gaps.

That said, as shorty mentioned, you do seem to be light on spddown, which is quite valuable for Hydra. Still - there are definitely better options.

As Davey mentioned just speculation.  But it's pretty on brand for them to give access to a champ with a unique piece and then add in a requirement for it later.
