I have been playing games for almost 30 years and i have never encountered anything in any game that i hated more than live arena in RSL. Its an absolute garbage mode and there is not one positive thing i can say about it. The P2W aspect of it is just WAY to high and pay enough and you can just win with going full auto. When they started to force people to play that crap by making it an advanced quest was also the time i decided to go from a low spender to not put one single cent more into the game.

Maybe you are a good programmer but you are a shitty analyst.  I see enough data in your little rant to see that.

Are there tiers within tiers beyond completely random matchmaking, of course.  Do these assist everyone in progression towards gold and eventually gold 4.  Yes.

Does difficulty increase at milestone points.  Yes.

Is live arena, and all pvp, significantly easier the more you spend. Of course. 

Is the system perfect, of course not. Fair? Absolutely. 

As long as i can keep manipulating the system for easy fights and my 4 primals a month I'm good.

Now that I got that out of the way, I agree with some of what you say, accept its def NOT fair. Putting lvl 70's with 3k points against lvl 100 whales is bullshit to say the least. This matching system does not work the way you describe it. Like I said I have footage months and months of it to prove otherwise.

I dont care about what the dev's write publically or what you read about how the game work. They obviously do not disclose eveything. 

Yeah me too Jontti7. My first online was WoW. Before that I was playing xbox, playstations, I go all the way to Atari days LOL. You're 100% right its really frustrating. 

I want RSL to stick around for a long time. But, this casino type gatcha thing and obvious money grabbing tactics, just leaves a bad taste in everyones mouth. I guess it leaves me to contemplate whether I wanna keep playing or not. 

I rarely agree with trips on anything, and i do not enjoy live arena. I also think the games is very PTW. I am an ftp player who has played a lot and knows being ftp is a disadvantage

 But lets break this down a bit.

You are apparently in Gold live arena?, that is supposed to be the 'elite' section and competitive. The fact you have managed to reach gold while still level 70 demonstrates  that the game has artificially lowered the difficulty for you to ensure you reach gold. 

What you seem to want is for the system to consistently match you against other players that have not spent the time (or money) to build up their accounts up, even though you are in the 'elite' tiers. 

Why should you have easier fights than someone who for example has grinded their butt off to get good gear and a good roster? Leagues/Tiers are supposed to exist for a reason. Gold live arena is supposed to be competitive.

Curious what I described that you feel is incorrect? 

I have no idea what the devs say tbh, my opinion is based solely on my own data points and validated by others stating similar findings. 

I certainly agree newer players are also at a significant disadvantage same as the spending discrepancy.  

Exactly how the matchmaking works, I don't really bother to decipher as my objective is simply 5 wins as quickly as possible then quit out my remaining tokens.  But whatever combination of factors determines my opponents, the convergence towards a 50% win rate is a certainty. 

If you are a level 70 and not a big spender you definitely have an uphill battle in pvp, but I'm fairly confident that however the system is designed it is actually helping you more than a pure ELO type system.

I may not have explained myself properly... im not expecting anything to change for my benefit. It was just a rant.

The level 70 thing was just an example, I am lvl 95 - 4515 points in gold III and have been stuck there for weeks. To fight 25 fights a day and end up worse than you started off for weeks on end is the most frustraing experience I have ever had in my entire life of gaming. I promise you I am not exaggerating. I'm old (Gen X Old). so thats a lot of gaming. I even feel sorry for the lvl 70's that are put up against my team. There is zero excuse for the way they have set up live arena. I see PVP as a game of skill, its not just about how much $$ someone spends and the amount power they could affords to buy. I kinda of wish that, when a both teams enter live arena, equalise the power for all teams and make it a game of skill. Then it become fair and the whales have to actually do some work and use their brains to win the fight.  Thanks for replying. TC

Yeh i am old as well, my first gaming was text based games (muds) where if you were killed you lost everything :)

I wish pvp in raid was about skill but the truth is that raid generally is about 2 things, grinding until your eyes bleed- or spending ridiculous amounts of money to avoid the grinding. That doesnt just apply to live arena, it applies to all parts of the game.

I think there is zero chance of stats being equalised in LA, it would remove the reason for whales to whale.

Dont get me wrong, i do not understand why people spend huge amounts to 'win' on a mobile game, it would completely kill any satisfaction i got from 'winning' if i was to do that (and my wife would kill me anyway if i blew thousands on a game)

But again, being realistic, without whales- the game would probably not exist.
