The only thing you can do if you believe something weird happened is open a Support Ticket. You can do so from within the game by clicking your Profile Pic, then Info, then Support. 

K, thanks. I'll try. I suspected it was just a glitch and was wondering if other people were also seeing the Vulkanos portrait but not getting him. If it was just me, maybe I was actually supposed to get it.

EDIT - so they sent me a cut-and-paste reply saying if I had disconnected I'd still get the champion. Which has nothing to do with what I asked.
