Yes, they need the Masteries, the exact speed for this team and fully booked. Level 6 gear is not necessary, i have 5* too. Speed is important 

You need to first understand how speed tuning works, and then go over to deadwoodjedi and look up the tune :)

But yes, you're going to want Clan Boss champs to be 60'd, masteries, properly tuned depending on the comp.
