In gear which is better HP vs DEF?
When it's a champ that it's not HP or DEF based and doesn't require RES/ACC, just needs to stay ALIVE, which stat should i look for?

DEF has a bit of a soft-cap in effectiveness, so especially if you have DEF up, your need for DEF is pretty limited. Generally, somewhere between 2000-2500 is all you need.

Oh didnt know there was a soft cap, Thx! Do the soft cap also is for Def DMG based champs?

If I just need to keep a champ alive, I put one each of HP% and DEF% in the chest and gauntlet positions.
