Yes, they definitely do, it has the chance to drop all the best items in the game including legendary tomes and scared shards like the image below (top tier chest on nightmare).

Like all good things they are rare but considering its a daily chance once you're at that level.

I've not got to the "top tier chest on nightmare", so can't tell how often you would be having those rewards.

The best drop I've ever had from Hard CB was an epic book (once) and a blue shard (once). The rest was useless.

I've not gotten top chest in Hard yet, im close though. Others in my clan have gotten shards of books from easy, so I'll keep grinding for now.
