are the points collected during events are really resetted at midnight UTC? I mean... Event duration is 24 hrs ... if this is true Events make no sense for f2p players and players that spend money every now and then, since it takes like 50-70 dungeon runs on lvl7-9 to complete the event which equals 500-700 energy....

With the event, it's totally possible for a Free2Play Player to complete within 24 hours. It's just about using the Energy efficiently. Within 24 hours, with the right timing, you'll be able to use around 480 (give or take) energy + full refill from log-in time, quest and event rewards. It's a pretty decent event with great rewards for active players.
Its not a bad event since the game is all about farming anyway. Getting rewarded for doing what we are already doing.
