End of Flash Update
Dear Players,
On January 1st, 2021, all web browsers will stop supporting Flash, and our games will no longer be able to run on them. However, we have a solution.
We have been working hard to make it possible switch our games to HTML5 in December, but we ran into some technical issues. The HTML5 version of the game demands optimizations and improvements, and we will keep everyone informed if the situation changes.
For this reason, we have decided to commit to helping every player migrate to desktop versions of our games. These desktop applications are able to use Flash Player without exposing anyone to any security threats, so you can continue playing just as you are now - in most cases, it will be even better!
Migrating your account will allow you to keep your same account, all your progress, and all your purchases. We'll have detailed instructions for how to migrate coming soon. For now, sit tight, fight on, and keep your eyes out for more info!

It's moving FB players to the portal because the games hosted on the portal can be played via Plarium Plays, while those on FB cannot be played that way.

Why did we hear that HTML 5, compared to Flash, was slower and many other negatives yet now we get, "porting to HTML", like this is something new?

I'm guessing that they realised that there really is no viable alternative and that the app alone would just postpone the inevitable, unless they remain browser-friendly.

WebGl and HTML5 were reported to be slower etc ... but only by a few (very vocal) players, so plarium stopped trying
but many players on Sparta said it was BETTER than flash, so maybe it depends on your own browser setup
Moving everything to Plarium Play will be the death for many games

Is it's the only option, definitely. If it's an alternative to a fully functional browser version, it might work. Although, that would mean maintaining two versions of the client (Flash + HTML and/or WebGL), which doesn't seem viable in the long run.

As I run Linux almost exclusively and have only a slow Windoze computer for the few things that require it, I will be dropping out with the change.
If an HTML5 version becomes available, I might return.

I tried to launch the game dozens of times after downloading the plarium app. many times and it never works. Been a few weeks now and methinks its time to just boot the game overboard despite buying rubies. It is a game, why can it not work easily? I shall seek out an online game thats easier to play. I delete the old app, download the new one, it opens on the new plarium page after downloading but I can never sign into any games. Just sits dead in the water.
