The key is joining a brotherhood willing to help you learn the game,

making mistakes is one way in learning, we all started out being new and hit the prizes with the wrong units 

so we learn and we listen to what news we get from our brotherhoods,

The prizes have changed a lil bit, you now need a lil more resources to build up the banking

as it now give random small amount of troops,, but your banks stays, if you aren't being paid then just maybe you need to work a lil more on the banking system, 

This all thing lacks clarity BIG TIME, Off/Def values of prizes per their level is unknown, Possible rewards for each prize level is unknown. For example I've got up to level 16 prizes missions atm, I've managed to train like 200 Mard's over the past few days and didn't attack prizes, what should I do? Have no idea. my BH seems totally lost as well they have no idea whats going on specially since recent change to algo, Discussing them revealed I have more info than they do from reading the forums. I'm hella lost.

As far as I know, rewards depends on how much resources you've sacrificed via units.

Send a few units to each prizes just to get them killed, you need to lose.

When you are outta units you wanted to sacrifice, hit the second highest possible prize and you'll most likely get your prize.

So if you sacrifice 50 marauders (worth 90 + 150 + 60 = 300 each, 15 000 together) you can't expect Juggernauts as a reward (one is over 24k).

Also make sure your warhouses and rum cellars are almost full, otherwise you will get resources instead of units.

This is what I do and I'm just fine with rewards.

if this prize was attacked before the prize reward release, it is possible you get no reward out of it.

i have a question regarding prize banking :

i have a relic that give me -10% cost on lugger building resoucres.

so if i kill 500 lugger in prize when this relic is activated : do i get less reward then killing 500 lugger without the relic ?

since the resoucres used are less with the relic i wanted to know if i should deactivate the relic first .

It does not matter the relics you have with the reduction is still added full resource value, this is the same with troops you  get free from plarium, as long as they aren't breth units and or normal troops
