Banking in Prize Missions.

All units you lose on prize missions (Non story, they should not have a skull on their icon), both defence and offence, the combined resource value of those units gets added to a figure called the total bank value/balance. The bank value of a single unit = Rum + Lumber + Gold costs of the unit. A Marauder for instance is 60 + 150 + 90, so its total bank value = 300, lose 10 of these then your total bank balance will = 3000. Elite units are worth the same as their normal counterparts, Dark Corsairs have no value so are worthless when you are banking.

This process is called loading, or banking. Once you finally killed off a prize missions, you may or may not get a reward, if not, just kill off another prize mission. To get the most out of your banking period, you may want to take as many prize missions down to as low as possible without killing them off, it allows you to bank a lot more by delaying your reward.

When you do get your prize, its value is deducted from your total bank value, if you were rewarded 20 Skirmishers (90+42+60) it would mean your reward is worth 3840. After this, your bank value goes into the negative and you must pay it back. The resource value of the units you lose is *never lost*, sometimes you may be paid in resource alongside units, this also takes away from your bank balance. If you have around 90% of each resource in your base, this can stop prize missions paying back In resources instead of units.

One thing to note is that units lost on story missions, does not add to your bank balance. Also to note, the lvl of the prize you kill, limits the total worth of the reward you can get, the higher the lvl the prize missions, the more it can payout. This is regardless of if your total bank value exceeds the limit several fold.

LordCorpseKiller, your article is very interesting and it will definitely help other players understand how the Prize Missions work.

If you are low in resources, it will reduce your unit payout in units, and give you resources instead. Having max or near max of all resources guarantees that you are paid back entirely in units. As if you are rewarded in resources, you will never be rewarded more than you have room for, if your max limit for rum is 40,000 and your current amountl is 30,000; you will potentially be given 10,000 worth of rum alongside your unit payout. One thing to note is that resource payout, takes away from your banking value.

One thing you have to remember is that you are not starting the banking from scratch, you have done prize missions in the past and have received rewards from them. So when you do start backing you may already be in the positive or could need to pay back a lot. To add further complication of the process, plarium introduced random variables into the algorithm that determines your reward, or whether you are or not. Even if you have banked millions, there is still a chance that this algorithm could determine that you will not be paid this time, you bank balance is still there, its just they are refusing to pay this time.

This is what they posted on the Total Domination forum back in early July of 2014 regarding the algorithm, I consider it to apply to Pirates as to my knowledge and from experience, the payout algorithm is virtually the same for each game.

..............................................................................................................................................

We don’t share the exact algorithm for the feature, but here’s the basic outline: every time you attack or defend a [prize], your unit losses are totalled up according to each unit’s price in [Rum, Gold, Lumber]. This running total is your Payout Number. When you get payout from a [Prize], the spread, number, and type of Units or Resources you receive are randomly allocated as measured in resources based on that total.
The longer you go without receiving a payout, the higher your Payout Number total is becoming and the bigger your eventual reward will be (that's if you continue to bank). Now, there are also some randomized triggers when running this calculation – first, it does a “spin” to see if this infestation will pay out this time, or just keep adding to your Payout Number. Depending on how this spin goes, it’s possible to go extremely long periods without getting a payout (even though your Payout Number is still growing over time). This is especially true if you've received big payouts on higher-level [Prizes] and then go back to hitting low-level ones.

The payout frequency is a little higher for the [prize] that pop up directly on the left side of your screen, but those require hitting consecutively higher [prizes] each time. Sometimes you can also “spin” and hit a superbonus, which will trigger a payout worth more than your total investment, but those don’t pop up much.

The biggest misconception is that regular [prizes] each have their own discrete payout amount. I know it often seems like we’re laughing maniacally to ourselves as we change each [Prize] Level’s payouts every week to confound everyone – this isn't true. It doesn't work that way.

The payouts are based on your collective Payout Number; the last time you triggered a payout, and how many Unit losses you've suffered in the meantime. Treat it like Black Jack; play with a long view, don’t bet everything you have, and quit when you’re ahead. It can be frustrating, but senior players have experimented with different strategies and gotten pretty good results. Ask around, but be prepared to lose a lot of troops to get there – don’t commit anything you’re not ready or able to lose without being hamstrung.

Some advice: take advantage of Global Mission events to “double dip” on your investment. Also don’t forget to include the XP, and Ranking Points, ranking awards, Achievement Bonuses, and other freebies you’re getting from taking on the Infestations.
Also, if you want a sure bet, don’t forget about the Campaign [Prizes]. Each one of these has a fixed payout in [Brethren] units that you can view before deciding whether or not to run the mission – plus they all have a pretty cool storyline and audio content, but the higher ones get really, really tough.

In the coming months we’re planning to experiment with the payout frequency algorithm to make it a little less discouraging from the player end, so standby for future announcements.

How to check how much prize you have banked in prize mission?

And I am not clear about you have to bank individual prize mission or you have to do it collectively?

Brethren Units and dreads do not count towards the bank, they have no resource value. Those are units you're better off keeping. If you can build it in your tavern excluding units that require gears to be built then they go toward the bank. Oh and don't use dreads those are useful and cost a pretty penny/ruby

The bank is based on the resource value of units you receive as a payout from prizes plus 12%. The res value for a sub for instance is 7500 = 3700 gold + 2300 rum and 1500 lumber. So 10 subs would be 75000 + 12% = 84k that has to be paid back before you can get another payout. So its a total value between X number of prizes before that's paid off. Just a note though, you can't build hundreds of fleet or armada units as fast as you get them in the lighthouse. Another thing to keep in mind a lv20 bonnie has a def power of 26 and a sub ~800. 2 bonnies use about 4 rum per hour while one sub uses 4rph. See the value
