Brotherhood Bastions are special Buildings that bring together all the forces your Brotherhood can muster, making them stronger as they fight as one for supremacy of the Seas! You can protect and upgrade your own Brotherhood Bastion, or engage rival Bastions by attacking and downgrading them. If you’re successful, this will reduce their Levels, and limit the bonuses they are able to receive.

But that’s not all, maties! Having a central Bastion allows your Brotherhood to attain Knowledge, which provides enormous bonuses to your Brethren’s armies!

ABOUT

Brotherhood Bastions have 21 levels (0-20). When first constructed, your Brotherhood Bastion will be at Level 3, but it can be downgraded to zero by rival Brotherhoods. The higher the Level of your Brotherhood Bastion, the greater the bonuses it is able to provide to your Brethren.

Each upgrade Level grants you additional Influence Points and increases the bonuses you are able to receive from your Fields of Knowledge.

STONE BLOCKS

Stone Blocks are required to upgrade Brotherhood Bastions. They can be earned by participating in certain Tournaments or you can purchase them from the “Info” tab of your Brotherhood Bastion.

FIELDS OF KNOWLEDGE

When you construct your Brotherhood Bastion, you also gain access to Fields of Knowledge. The “Knowledge” section of your Brotherhood Bastion interface contains different Fields of Knowledge. Attaining Knowledge provides statistical bonuses to the Crews of ALL Members of that Brotherhood.

Fields of Knowledge are not affected by attacks, and cannot be downgraded. Once upgraded to a certain Level, they will never drop below that Level.

To upgrade a Field of Knowledge, you’ll need Codexes.

CODEXES

Codexes are a special Brotherhood-only Resource that can be earned by participating in Brotherhood Adventures and Tournaments, or you can purchase them with Rubies when upgrading your Fields of Knowledge.

BASTION INTERACTIONS

Each Brotherhood should work to downgrade other Brotherhoods’ Bastions. Firstly, downgrading rival Brotherhood Bastions keeps them from receiving bonuses. Secondly, downgrading other Brotherhoods’ Bastions is vital for a Brotherhood hoping to upgrade their own Bastion.

To downgrade a rival Bastion, your Brotherhood must perform a successful attack on it.

If another Brotherhood successfully attacks your Bastion while an upgrade is NOT in progress, your Bastion will be downgraded by one Level, and 50% of the Stone Blocks spent on the upgrade to the lost Level will be returned to your Brotherhood.

If another Brotherhood manages to perform a successful attack on your Bastion while it is being upgraded, the upgrade will fail, and your Bastion will be downgraded by one Level. Your Brotherhood will be reimbursed 75% of the Stone Blocks spent on the attempted upgrade, as well as a further 50% of the Stone Blocks spent on the upgrade to the lost Level.

Important: Brotherhood Bastions cannot be downgraded more than ONCE per day.

BASTION MANAGEMENT (FOR BROTHERHOOD LEADERS)

BUILDING YOUR BASTION

Brotherhood Bastions can only be built on special Bastion Chasms, which can be found on the Map and spread across the Seven Seas!

Each Brotherhood may build only ONE Brotherhood Bastion.

Only the Brotherhood Leader is able to initially construct your Brotherhood Bastion.

To construct your Brotherhood Bastion, go to the Map. From there, click on the large icon in the bottom-left to open the ""Locate Bastion Chasms"" window, then click “Find Bastion Chasms”. The rest is simple: find a location of your choosing, then click ""Place Bastion"".

RELOCATING YOUR BASTION

Bastion Relocators are special Items that can be used to change a Bastion’s location on the Map. Bastion Relocators can be acquired from the Smuggler’s Den, within the “Special” tab.

IMPORTANT

Only Brotherhood Leaders – and those Brotherhood Members granted permission to do so – can:

- Spend Stone Blocks to upgrade their Bastion. Upgrading your Bastion takes time, but this process can be sped up with the use of Rubies.

- Use Bastion Relocators to relocate their Brotherhood Bastion to a new location of their choosing.

- Use Codexes to upgrade Fields of Knowledge.

REMEMBER: Only Brotherhoods that have been around for more than 7 days are able to create a Brotherhood Bastion.
