More Choice In Making Purchases

The company would probably make more money from purchases if it gave its customers the freedom to better customize them. Many times I would have been happy to simply make the purchase if the deal had been for the rubies the deal said it was the equivalent value of, but I didn't because I didn't want or need a lot of the stuff arbitrarily thrown into the deal. So a simple option selector to get one or the other ( the package deal or just the rubies it's equivalent to ) in the deal would increase the chances of a sale.

If someone wants to get really creative and not just offer rubies, have a menu of all the available sale items that customers can select à la carte from. Giving customers choices always improves the chances of sales, and it's easy to do. Preventing customers from spending their money the way they want just frustrates them, ticks them off, and that makes the likelihood of sales less, and reduces the desire to play the game at all. I simply don't shop where I can't spend my money the way I want to.

Hi! This suggestion was already passed to our game developers. however, right now we are unable to allow players customizing Special Offers packs. it's possible that it will be reconsidered in the future, but our current tools don't allow us to do this.

The choice, as proposed, would be useless. We could just get the rubies and buy the stuff we want instead of choosing it all in bulk.

However, a choice between rubies and discounted items would be interesting. For example:

Choose between
  • 10k rubies and these ships/chart/boosts/... that are normally worth 20k rubies (so, a total value of 30k rubies); and
  • just 20k rubies.

That way, the items would be attractive to some, while others might be more interested in bare rubies if the items are not appealing enough.

In future, these offers could also include more than just two choices. For example: just rubies vs. some rubies and ships vs. some rubies and boosts/charts vs. ...

Actually from what I see, you have the tools to do the initial part of the suggestion very easily. Simply create two packs. Make one pack the usual combo pack, and make the other pack the equivalent amount of rubies only. If the combo pack is more convenient for some players because of all the time in construction, unique units, and so-on, they could buy the combo pack. On the other hand, if the pack doesn't have the stuff the player wants, they could simply select the ruby only pack containing the equivalent percentage of free rubies ( 635% more! ) instead. Easy. Simple. You have the tools to do that now. The graphic could even be put together to make it look like a single pack with either option. Not hard at all.

We already have some Special Offers with Rubies only :)

I'm more inclined to agree with the others. Just a tad bit different. The straight ruby packs when deals aren't as often compared to the packs that change up every 1.5 hrs. One of the ones I make a point of not buying is the dread fleet pack. Its relatively worthless to have merc or pirate dreads, for the amount we get and very little supporting units. Or the pack that includes the scholar. If it was the 50/50 instead, it'd be a more appealing pack. The best pack though was in the beginning of the game. When the 30 day prestige was offered, but that no longer exists :(

Here's another way to improve sales: Coordinate your offers with current missions and tournaments. Several times during upgrade tournaments I would have liked to see a huge deal on boosts and resources, but instead the deals weren't relevant to what was happening in the game. Hey, just put me on your monetization analysis team and let me work from home OK? I'll increase your profit margin with these simple ideas that any Marketing 101 student should have already figured out by now.

I do like this suggestion and hope they look into it.

I've noticed that as well. I know these are the hourly discounts but I mostly get construction packages during pvp or prize tournaments. Being a lighthouse player more than pvp, I'd prefer to see more packs that have regular units rather than brethren units.

Something else that would likely make the company more money is to reduce the prices so that players can afford to play faster. Playing faster means more enjoyment and more frequent purchases. More enjoyment means more players making more purchases more frequently. I don't get why the game company doesn't get these basic marketing principles. It's like it wants to slow down and frustrate players while taunting them with goodies they don't have the budget for and are quite simply not worth the money given the nature of the game.

No sooner do I make the suggestion than I see a price reduction message for resources. Great! Only problem is that the price is still the same as it has been since I started on that server. Maybe it still needs updating. The $99 package is just too expensive. it should be more like $19.99 with the same amount of stuff, and not limited to a single purchase. Better to sell a few less expensive packages that make the game more fun to play than sell none and frustrate players at the same time by making it so agonisingly slow that they literally leave the game.

You know that we have regular Bank Offers and Special Offers with bonuses.

Special Offers appear according to a set algorithm which is constantly evolving. Several departments work on the development of that algorithm, and they rely on analytics data, marketing research and other information they receive through their research channels.

You can receive a cheap or an expensive Special Offer. it is chosen by that algorithm. Unfortunately, it’s not a part of the game our players can affect directly or pass suggestions about some changes to it. If you don’t like your current Offers or find them expensive, you can wait for better ones, and they will appear sooner or later.

Yes well I think their algorithms need some tweaking because the company is most probably probably losing money. That's the problem with bean counters. There's a disconnect between the real people playing and their spreadsheets.

Why is it, I have to wait to buy ruby packs that are within my budget. If you spend 99 then the next set of hourly discounts becomes 198 or 330. It would require a live test but why not treat the packs like the lighthouse. Sales figures would show whether or not this works.
