You actually don't receive these ships like you do troops 

clear way to find out how many you have and how to use them

Go to the map and find any haven, mouse over untill you get the combat tab

then follow below

Please click the tab with the view of the Fireship

then a new tab will open

shows the ships along with how many you have

here you can chose to hit once or twice or even 3 times for a bigger attack

but becareful these ships come with a price........
