It's the state of the matchmaker right now... buy stuff early on and get super easy matchmaking against players of roughly same XP level but they chose to grind items via events/tournaments. So no matter what anyone ( player or Plarium talking head ) tells you... the game is absolutely favorable for those that choose to buy weapons and mechs via the in game offers. Fact... period.
nothing changes until one of these two things happens :
Players stop pumping money into the game for early access to Mechs/Weapons... this is unlikely because they ( the players ) are rewarded with easy matchmaking, especially in tournament mode where they can win lots of resources by overpowering other players.
or
Plarium get serious about offering fair matchmaking and takes these players that purchased powerful mechs/weapons early and puts them against players that are similarly equipped and not against players that don't have access to the same items via the progress path... this is also unlikely becuase then players stop buying stuff.
I created a brand new "noob" account to mess around with. The P2W is very evident in the early stages of the game because Plarium decided to make a game where they sell much higher level equipment to brand new accounts. I'm like 3500 XP with a Rank 4 Killshot sporting Carbine 8's. I totally demolish bots and other players. It's fun AF but I'm sure the players on the other side are pissed off. A better model would be or the game to only sell you offers for equipment that has been unlocked through the XP system.

unlocking before you can buy would be good but many people are lazy toads and want the biggest advantage they can get. like scumbag hackers using cheats cause they are terribad other wise
