During a 60m tournament session this will happen at least twice. Matchmaker decides to complete a total mismatch.
This happens normally after a string of strong wins which makes you want to put on the tin foil hat and call shenanigans on the matchmaking algorithm 🤔.
My stat page vs his... this one match set me back far enough that i lost my hold on 3rd place in GMasters and couldnt gain those Points back....
The player appears to have spent a rather large amount of money for only being at 46,987 XP. Upon looking at this hanger most of the mechs and items were purchased as they are not yet unlocked at that rank.
Whether or not the matchmaking was wrong really depends upon the Squad Power of the other 8 players and how team SP compares vs individual SP.

Yeah... the problem here is that we were the only two humans in the games. So that essentially comes down to a clear advantage for him with a much more powerful hangar. Balancing out the SP by giving my AI more pwerful hangars is not effective. The AI is pretty poor at playing tactically 😉 as they generally just make themselves easy kills for a human.
I think that is a key point that needs to be factored into matchmaker .
