That's why they maded the Arc Torrnent.

I love the arc torrent.  It's fun as hell to run around with duel Arc 6's on a Shadow and zap people in the ass.  

But ya, I agree, Shotgun 4 leaves much to be desired.  It takes a while to get all the shots off and the damage is not all that great.  You would think they would make a weapon that has such a range disavantage a lot more powerful.  

Much like how missle rack 6 is smaller and has one less shot then missile rack 8 the heavier shot gun should have at least 2 extra rounds and a slightly bigger spread 

I agree with Wargasm the arc does not function in the same manner as the shotgun and does not make a equal replacement
