CHEATING IN MECH ARENA

It is ridiculous how Plarium has decided to use rigged mechanics to block the natural progress of players who don't spend money on the platform.

It’s common nowadays for players to come here and complain about the exact same things: unfair matchmaking, allied bots that do nothing but run straight to their deaths, and Hangar Battles against opponents with vastly superior Power Levels.

In both Control Point Clash and Deathmatch, 90% of the time your opponents are bots given massive advantages. It's essentially 5 system-favored bots against 1 player accompanied by 4 useless allied bots that get in the way more than they help. Sometimes one or two real players join your team.

And how does it work? On the enemy team, the bots are extremely tactical, agile, and coordinated, always backed by much higher stats. Their abilities always seem ready to deploy at the exact moment they need an edge. Enemy bots lack human distraction and never make mistakes; an enemy bot clear across the map fighting two other players knows exactly what I’m doing and where I’m moving. Even while busy, it positions itself with pinpoint accuracy to avoid getting hit by anyone aiming at it from a distance.

Observe this result:

My team: 24 kills and 5 control points.
Opponent: 16 kills and 4 control points.

My team:  Swerve 5 kills and 2 control points = 9.930

Opponent: [BERWW] BP 1 kill and 2 control points = 12.100 ????

What kind of math is this?

Isn't Plarium ashamed to cheat so blatantly? What kind of math is this?

We could list over 100 ways Plarium has devised to prevent players from progressing. It’s a whole spectacle of cheating and rigged mechanics, all designed to favor the system at the expense of the players.

Example: I face an opponent's mech that has lower HP, like 64k. I shoot until both of my weapons are completely empty, and its HP barely takes any damage. It doesn't have shields or implants that would justify that kind of resistance. Then my Mech, which is supposed to be stronger, with implants, shields, and much higher HP, takes just one shot and loses more than half its HP before the opponent even empties their mag. In other words, a single burst takes away over half my health.

On top of all that, I have to watch all my kills turn into "ASSISTS." I can be completely alone fighting an enemy, deal 99% of the damage, and when I finally finish them off, it displays ASSIST... RIDICULOUS. This isn't a bug; it's a deliberate mechanic to stunt my progress. My weapons also feel completely nerfed: I have to empty two full mags or more just to do noticeable damage, while an opponent takes away almost my entire HP with just a single burst. I'm sure most players are experiencing this or have already noticed it.

Everything in the game feels like a rigged show designed to make players lose.

Bots "cheat." But, it's not due to Plarium trying to block you unless you spend. It's just the algorithm that is given to the bots. There are many videos on YT that showcases successful F2P matches even when the bots are "cheating." Here are a few observations on bots:

  • In CPC and 5v5, both side have the same bots with the same weapons. The bots' weapons are based mostly on what the real players has equipped. The only caveat is when players are using a mech/weapon that is not ment for the bracket being played (i.e. using a Deathwalker in a sub 3k match)
  • Hangar Showdown bots are picked randomly from a pool unlike CPC and 5v5. The bots picked are based on the league that you are playing (i.e. League 4 will have common to rare bots whereas league 1 will have legendary bots). Sometimes you end up with a bot partner much better than the opponents or the reverse.
  • In FFA, bots are picked via bracket from the amount of SP the players have going into the match. Example, If overall player hangars are sub 1600, you will have bots with weapons that are in the common to rare range. Before the current changes to tournaments, this was SP dropper heaven.
  • Bots work on precise and instant actions for aiming, targeting, and other reactions. Hence, we nicknamed this "cheating."
  • Bots move and do certain objectives depending on real player's positions and actions (both allies and opponents). Examples: In CPC, when you spawn on the left side at the start of a match, the bots will not travel in that direction unless you deviate because it thinks you are going to capture that side's home control point. Or, a bot will not capture a control point if it detects that a real player is close to it. The only time that it will help you capture a point or do it on it's own is when you are losing or it's a home control point.
  • Bots prioritises lowest HP and players. This causes kill stealing or switching off other bot target to chase players down.
  • Bots block you when you are firing at a target (REALLY annoying). I still have not figured this one out. I don't know if they are trying to "help" you by taking damage or otherwise.
  • Bots can push you. You can't push them. Not much more to add here other than you can sometimes take advantage of this by "riding" the bot pushing you to move faster.

Other than running into SP droppers, once you get use to the bot's mechanics (and quietly grinding your teeth when the bots are working against you), they become easily managed. Also, knowing the map, advantage points, guessing opponent's trajectories, your mech/weapon strengths and weaknesses, knowing when to push or retreat, etc. will make your matches more enjoyable even as F2P.

Points are not based solely on kills and captured control points. Damage is another factor, and can often account for what is looking like a points discrepancy to you (the OP).
