Current issues with the game right now.
Okay so for context I started playing mech arena in early 2021/2022 and took a break from it in around late 2023/early 2024, so i do know how the game used to be.
When I came back it was def an overwhelming feeling, not only because of the updates and how far the game has progressed in, but also because of the problems.
The number one problem being currency distribution. P2W is a big part of the game that a lot of players do sometimes to get a good start in the game or just to skip progress which is fine for both the player and the game. But for normal F2P like us, it is super hard to gather a-coins , if not credits which is fine but still takes some time. Mechs/weapons are priced at 9000 acoins, 8000 a-coins which could literally take us MONTHS to get. The solution i could think of is bring more events for f2p which contain higher a-coin rewards and just more a-coin distribution in general for us to progress easily, because right now it seems to be all over the place.
Some events have absurd amount of a-coin rewards for the top 3, and then none for the rest. And instead of being competitive, those events can also be progressed if you can spend money/buy a coins off real money and spend it for points to progress in the event. The tournament a coin buff is def a good step but surely not enough either.
Second problem I noticed after coming back was how hard it actually was to adapt to the new system.
Let me try to explain this.
I think something we all can agree on is that the new mechs, which btw are either very expensive or could only be accessed by purchasing it with real money, are EXTREMELY OP. You cannot do anything with some mechs and they give the player a HUGE advantage amongst the others. Mechs like deathwalker, volti's ability, seeker, dreadnought, these mechs are cool def but their abilities are just a headache to handle. There's NO WAY you can dodge volti's ability if you're around it. Hemlock for example, there was a case where the opponent's hemlock ability came back before i could even reload so he kept spamming it and ended up killing me. This is not just a thing with these mechs, every new mech after gear hub 6 is super op in some way or the other, and the worst part is people can skip progression and put in real money to buy those, which is a major disadvantage for the free to play players.
For weapons, this is also something which is super annoying just like the mechs. Back then progression used to be sort of streamlined or easy enough to create combinations. I'm not saying having a bunch of weapons is a bad thing and unlike mechs, weapon prices have been a lot better so far ( I'm at gear hub 6 rn) . But it is not about this, it is about how over powered the weapons are. Here's the thing, even a normal weapon like gemini 6, could one tap a guardian with 80k health. And this is just one example of many. It is super annoying how over powered pretty much all new weapons are and how easily spammable they are. Again the same points like the mechs could be put in here, buying new op weapons off the store and skipping progression.
My point is that the game is NOT balanced as it used to be. I see the devs trying to bring variety into the game as it progresses further but progress is a lot more appreciated when it is balanced and does not distrupt the player's experience. It took me a long while to adapt to all of this and it is still till date annoying to face alll of these issues. These are the three major problems I personally feel should be fixed with time. It is always fun to play when it is more fair.
If this reaches out to the dev team, I really appreciate your work so far and seeing the game now and how much it has progressed in these years is truly remarkable. I hope you take this feedback in a positive way and fix these issues. Appreciate it
Good day :D
