I like the Aegis. Took me a bit to figure it all out, but that is probably my best mech right now. I do not have any legendary mechs yet. I use pod guns with him. When the price reduction hit, I finally got it to 6 stars, but not maxed yet.

The pod guns sound like a great idea. I may have to shell out real-world currency to get those.

I think it's a great mech that holds its own even against legendary mechs. 

No need to spend real money on pods. Pod 8s and 10s are available for credits. I've used cryo launcher and storm rack and those are great as well (cryo 8 and 10, SR6 and SR10 all available for credits). The best weapon on Aegis for me, so far, has been storm rack.

I haven't ranked it up though, and no plans yet to do so. It's still at 16 capacity.

After using my saved A-coins to get Aegis, I'm the Mech Arena equivalent of being house poor. So, the pods would have to wait. 

Storm Rack, you say? I have a Storm Rack 6, but they haven't been used since I phased out my Arachnos. Right now I have a Viper 6 and an Overdriver 8 on my Aegis, but I'll replace them with SR6s and try it out. Go easy if you see a confused Aegis in the arena! 😇

Dual overdriver 8s work extremely well on aegis even at high ranks. Also, overdrivers are capable of taking down aegis shield with close to 1.5 mags if your running dual over 8s. 

Storm rack 6 honestly is still really good at high SPs. Keep it in your hanger. My hanger is 4.3K SP and I'm still running storm rack 6 on onyx.
