Hangar power goes up to 35k? Really? Seems I'm unaware of such a thing. Please share a screenshot of this person with 35k hangar power that you fought, I'm truly curious.
Unless, of course, you're confounding "Inventory Power" and "Squad Power", which are totally different things. Inventory power is the sum total of the power ratings of all your mechs, weapons and mods combined, and has no effect on matchmaking. Squad Power is the total power of the mechs, weapons, pilots, mods etc. that you bring into battle, and is what influences matchmaking.
Drew isn't deflecting the issue, he's simply saying that there are a few permutations and combinations of mechs and weapons you can field in an hangar that will end up matching you against stronger (or weaker) opponents. If you have a single build with a rank 6 Eclipse with rank 6 weapons and the rest of your hangar is rank 4 or rank 5, then you're gonna be matchmade against people with rank 6 equipment and that will obviously be an unfair fight. But if you switch up things so that all your power is not concentrated in a single build, then you might face more equal mathmaking. Drew has no say in how the matchmaking algorithm works, but he's still trying to be helpful in his own way without even seeing your hangar; it's an answer he has come upon after facing a similar issue himself.
You're free to disagree, of course; everyone is entitled to their own opinion regardless of hw right or wrong they might be, or how far from facts their assumptions and statements are. However, please make sure that you don't break the rules of the forum while disagreeing with someone, since that might lead to unfortunate circumstances :)
