Proposal for eliminating AI bots.
The community has almosty universally expressed their disdain for the AI bots in this game. We have asked over and over again to have them fixed or removed and Palarium have not only utterly failed to implment a fix they have actively made the problem worse. First with the rarity overhaul (bots performance got wildly unpredictable with how quickly weapons can now eliminate a mech) then with the changes to EM rifles* (bots dont have to aim - players do)
*PLEASE no discusion on the EM rifle chage in this thread that's not the issue at hand
So given Palarium has demonstrated they are either incapable or unwilling to fix the AI its time to eliminate them. As above the player base have asked for this over and over again but Palarium has always used the excuse that this will make wait times to get into games too long. Palarium - This is nothing more than an excuse for your utter lazzyness and compelte incompetence in dealing with the AI issue. This is NOT a valid excuse to do **** all to fix this problem.
There is a very easy way to address this that will both eliminate bots AND make sure wait times are reasonable. Half the work is done already since you already have maps that will perfectly accomodate this change.
- When a player ques for a Control Point match the NEW minimum people in a match is FOUR.
- The maximum player count remains unchanged at 10.
- When you que the system will check to see what the current active player population is.
- If you are queing durring off hours with LOW active player population the game will try and put you in a 2v2 or 3v3 match. These matches will only use maps with 3 CPs. This creates a quick matchmaking process and ensures you get maps that are fun with these lower player counts.
- Than during peak hours with high active player counts they system will automatically scale up and try and find players for 4v4 or even 5v5 pmatches. These matches would use the 5 CP maps.
An important aspect of this change is players would never CHOOSE 2v2,3v3,4v4,5v5* . The servers would scale this automatically based on active players and attempt to match players accordingly. This way there is always the most players possible quing for matches. Death match could easily use this same system as well because again your already have the maps made for both low and high player counts.
*unless they are playing a CUSTOM match
Please make this happen. - This is a win win in every concievable way. It addresses Palarium's stated concern about wait time, it eliminates the costly and time consuming process of improving the AI programing and it addresses a HUGE player concern that has gone ignored for FAR too long.
NOTE - The solution is NOT making more game play modes that will further divide the already dwindling player base. This should not be a NEW game mode. This needs to be a complete replacement for Control point match making. If this changes works and the comunity likes it we can make the same change to Deathmatch.
