Hello! At this moment, no classic 2v2 Mode comeback is expected as the Hangar Showdown is in active development.
Hangar Showdown was meant to be a skill-based Mode with a few bots, providing the best PvP experience in the game. However, the Matchmaking feature and other improvements are needed, so the team is still focused on this Mode.

Hanger Showdown requires the least amount of skill this game allows us to have. It's a 100% skill-less mode full of nothing but Surge/Eclipse and Nomads ALL WITH REVOKERS. Change the name of the mode to Skill-less Showdown

Hello! I understand why you think so, and yes, it makes sense on many occasions. I can confirm that meta won't remain the way it is forever, so there will definitely be more diversity in the future.
The earlygame/early midgame players may feel this issue is not that relevant, though, as they basically meet endgame Mechs and Weapons more rarely. You can try to make a Squad of weaker Mechs and Weapons so that you're not limited in your choice 😉

So you're suggesting that I sp drop to over power newer players.. sounds just as fun as being over powered by end game accounts. Thought you were monitoring and "fine tuning" this game mode but just like everywhere else in the game, if we the players want change in matchmaking we either have to pay up to meta stage or sp drop down to beginner stage.. why?

There was no mention of SP Dropping, nor did I call for it.
Currently, there is an opportunity to use different Squad Presets (for free), where you can set three different Squads of different Mechs and Weapons, with different SP accordingly. Besides, you can choose which Presets will be considered by the Matchmaking system by pressing the ✅ icon near the Preset you are interested in.
Thus, you can build a Preset consisting of weaker Mechs and Weapons, and the Matchmaking will react to it accordingly.

I think this confusion is because the community uses "SP dropping" in two ways -
1. An unbalanced squad with one or two powerful mechs and the rest with weak mechs so that you face weaker opponents that stand no chance against you. Aka "tanking".
2. A balanced, non-cheating squad that is legitimate but much lower than the strongest hangar that you can set up.
I personally use "SP dropping" to mean the former, which is how I think you are using it as well. But many people use it to mean both of the above.
