3 Years of Waiting, Near Zero Progress: When Will the Promises Be Kept?

Imagine I’m a movie director, and I create a fantastic film that captures the hearts of millions. After everyone has seen it, I tease a sequel, promising it will be released soon. Time passes—one year, then two, then three—and still, no sequel. What do you think would happen? The audience that loved the first movie would begin to lose faith in my promises. They’d start doubting me, growing frustrated and upset. They would feel like I’m not delivering on what I said, because I never gave them a clear timeline or any indication of what’s to come.

Now, let’s look at your situation. You’ve told us that you’re working on major improvements, reworks, and fixes for well-known issues that players have been complaining about for years. Yet, despite saying this for one year, two years—wait, it’s been three!—we’re still waiting for any real change. All we’ve seen are new, expensive mechs, weapons, and pilots—things that aren’t just costly in the game but also in real life. And still, you wonder why we’re frustrated and impatient.

The reason is simple: you’ve given us no concrete updates, no specific timelines, no clarity on what’s coming. Everything is kept in the dark until it’s finally released. We’re not asking for perfection, but at least some transparency and a little trust. Without it, we can only wonder if our hopes for these promised improvements are ever going to materialize.

We want to support the game and see it thrive, but it's hard when we're left in the dark with no real communication. Promises of fixes and improvements lose their weight over time when we don't see any action. We don’t mind waiting if we know something is on the way—but when months and years go by without clear progress, it feels like we’re being taken for granted.

It’s not about the new content; it’s about trust. If you're going to make big promises, you need to show us you're serious about delivering. Players have stuck with the game, spent money, and supported it because we believed in what it could be. But now, it feels like the only thing that gets constant attention are flashy new additions that only serve to pull more money from our pockets—rather than addressing the core issues we've been asking about for years.

Hello! We appreciate your feedback, and all of your points sound absolutely reasonable.

Significant changes are under development. It takes a lot of time and effort—that's true. But we must admit and emphasize that during the three years mentioned, many updates and developments have also been implemented. The work is in constant progress 🪛

Stay tuned and keep an eye on the news. Something cool is coming, but we need some more time to polish new features to make them exciting, high-quality, and rad!

And there she is....the same answer i read for 234544,37 times in the last years. With no clear information and some mysterious somethings coming soon. What are your developments in the past? A massive amount of new weapons and mechs - as mentioned to pull more money from our pockets. You removed the vault Blitz (exciting) you changed the implant removal and changed it back (the new system is not the best for the players but for you) you removed all weapons and mechs from the progress Bar (yes - great idea) you nerfed some weapons to make them nearly useless (best thing ever). None of these COOL somethings solved the problems the players are talking about. So please spare us from your exciting and cool novelties and solve some of the problems the players run into day by day. Better to stay silent as to repeat the same answer for the 234545,37 time.

In fact, it's been 3 years that he's been repeating the same boring words. yes, there have been updates but ahahahah, they've only made things worse. ,, games managed by the A.I., new players WHO ARE HELPED BY THE A.I. TO MAKE THEM WIN,, yes, that's how they spend ehheeh.. continuous nerfs of weapons and nech, and flourishing of weapons and emch now seen and replicas of the old weapons.. no news in terms of game combinations, the real ball and chain of this game. no news in terms of maps.. (there is no variety).. except for the existent balance. and new weapons too unbalanced with the game. the developer's imagination is now over. and it's only based on NERFING OF OLD WEAPONS, but the overpowering of the new ones, IN PRACTICE NOW A TIRING AND VERY EXPENSIVE STORY. ,, YES NOW 2-3 GAMES AND YOU'RE OUT... ehehehe who calls it a FANTASTIC GAME, yes the new ones who have been playing for a few weeks heeh, wait for the AI to finish helping them.. ehehee

You’ve explained the frustration really well 👍 when players keep hearing about updates for years without any clear timelines, it naturally starts to break trust. Most people don’t mind waiting, but the lack of transparency makes it feel like nothing is actually improving. When developers focus more on new paid content instead of fixing core issues, it only adds to the frustration within the community. Clear communication and consistent updates could solve a lot of this, just like platforms that focus on improving the movie streaming experience tend to build more trust  by keeping things simple and user-focused.

Movies and games are different things.

The minecraft movie, which is like LITERALLY one of the top grossing movies OF ALL TIME, had almost no information about it for many years before it was finally released, being mentioned to public waayy in advance.

Near zero progress in not an accurate summary for the past 3 years.

In recent/semi-recent times in general we've had:

Gear hub, allowing f2p players to access otherwise premium content - if an older one.

The pilot rework, that stops a single implant costing 4k acoins to just remove - again more of an older one but still.

The price reduction, which massively reduced the prices for non-legendary content.

Hanger showdown, which allowed players to get the very scarce elite mod parts.

Promo codes, allowing players to get FREE STUFF.

The changes to mods allowing them to be equipped at rank 3 instead of rank 6.

The total of 4/week ecrs giving away legendary items at a near or total reduction in price

The tournament rework, making acoins more accessible.

The hangar showdown fixes, not that they helped massively but they still helped.

Not to mention the upcoming trial functionality, which is something I've only seen very few people ask for!

And, I can't help but feel like that least half of that was written by AI, as not only it reads like it but also employs sentence structure commonly used by LLMs, not to mention you not ever name-dropping an actual issue, instead just 'fixes'.. So clearly you care so much about all this that you can't even bother to write about yourself.... Which is about what I'd expect from an SP-dropper...

Agreed with pogster on this topic being too generic and non-actionable. I assumed it was about matchmaking but that was just an assumption.

If the OP is indeed talking about matchmaking then I think we have to take it for granted it's not going to change the way we would like it to change. I'm not on Plarium's side on that topic given how they've handled it over the years (vague platitudes, and disasters like their series of tournament "tests"), but I can guess at the strategy - frustrate people enough that it increases their desire to upgrade. And if it's not changing that means it's working. People like the OP and me continue to play despite it after all. So I honestly don't think yet another rant (even though it's coming from an understandable place, assuming it's about matchmaking) is going to help in any way. If there is something constructive then I'd be interested to read it, even if the game maker isn't :-).

By the way, in terms of transparency the new tournament format announcement was a step in the right direction.. they were very clear about the matchmaking criterion (and clear that SP is not a factor). That's a good thing and I hope it continues. Whether we players agree with it or not is a different issue.

From my point of view, however, being a ten-year player in palrium, MECH ARENA remains a mediocre game, with many bugs and defects, which have not been resolved in these 4 years. It remains the game in my personal ranking in last place in terms of fun, last place in terms of playability.

well I assume they could put their todo list here and make it public.. and then modify the priorities as they go about fixing/changing things.. that would be transparent and we could see progress.. I mean, I dont care about the new robots and weapons, I would not want to see that on the list.. I would want to see the list of bugs and progress... as somebody mentioned bugs above, cool, but question is what is bug and was it officially accepted as bug.. for me it's a bug that I see most part of the enemy body, I aim at enemy, but the bullets all hit the wall of the buildings he stands on. For developers maybe it's not a bug.. maybe it's their desirable geometry of the games's 3d space whatever.. but for me if I see it, I aim at it, then I should hit it with straight trajectory (not talking about arced trajectories). I mean it's slightly different if only my head is sticking out of some obstacle, then I dont expect to hit the target, but if im fully open, the enemy is nearly fully visible, I should hit him and not the wall, at the moment I think it's very off... its hard to make it right (as mentioned with only my head sticking out), but right now it feels unrealistic.
