This sounds like exactly what I have been looking for. Shame I don't have Google Drive or Spreadsheets & can't use it.

Lord DJMOODY...I respectfully disagree. I don't feel it is dumbing down the game. Rather simply eliminating a laborius mondane task which probably repels more players than it attracts. After all doesen't your financial institutions provide you with statements of your accounts?? You can even access them 24 - 7 online.....just as it should be in this game. And, just as it is now, players who don't understand the mechanics of BG's, won't know what to make of the bank statement. I don't mind working things out for myself if the endevor is worth it but sorry, this is boring & rediculous.

Lord DEVNULLICUS......that sounds fantastic!!! I have constructeed my own sheet but gawd......filling it out makes clearing out a list of BG's a day long event. It is exactly the point I was trying to make with Lord DJMOODY. This would simply eliminate a long ardjous & unecessary task.

On the contrary my lord, this is a great analogy. Again, the existence of a bg bank statement will not make it easier for players to LEARN BG's, only easier to monitor your progresss. Players wanting to learn more about the game come to this forum, which is exactly what the forum is for. Those players who either are not worried about or, simply don't have the time for learning more, won't come to the forum. You remind me of a skilled employee, who is ready for retirement & resents the new guys comming in because you feel they haven't walked the "road of hard knocks" as you have. Most people don't have the time to spend hours, days, or weeks learning the game; as maybe you have. But, that doesn't make the sharing of information, & these forum posts a crime. Am I also to assume, that now, because you seemingly already know everything about the game that you are now bored with it???

OK.....I just thought of another analogy which, hopefully, you may prefer. How would you like going to the grocery store & not getting a receipt for the groceries you just bought??

But, I think the bank analogy is still better because of the "Running Balance" feature with ALL Bank & Credit Accounts.

Oh, I forgot to mention to EVERYONE earlier, if you do share my view & "Like" my previous reply, then don't forget to "Like" Lord DEVNULLICUS's post, along with all of the other  valuable, informative posts in this Forum, for shareing their hard earned knowledge. I for one greatly appreciate your painstaking efforts. I hope you all get some sort of reward, (like free saphires at least) for your efforts.

You are supposed to LEARN how BG's work. Game mechanics are supposed to be hidden providing you the challenge of working them out.

I fully agree with that and this is how it meant to be. The Battlegrounds is one of the toughest aspects of the game and figuring them out is a real challenge. Even the calculator posted here isn't perfect. There are many materials available online about how one should interact with Battlegrounds and they are all part of the game. Players who created them enjoyed creating them and this is what matters. If the information was easily available, they wouldn't have the pleasure of sharing something they believe to be valuable information with others.

Obviously, you don't understand the mindset of a programmer.  If I didn't enjoy making things like this, I wouldn't have done it.   I, like many programmers, enjoy problem solving, research, and the satisfaction of making something complicated less so by the process of automation.   Besides, programming something that is complicated puts me in that "zone" and is very peaceful for me.  I could have programmed ANYTHING to achieve that inner peace, but I like Stormfall, I was bored and saw a problem that needed automation to make my own life easier.  That's really all it takes to launch any programmer on a months-long quest.

Well put, Lord DJMoody. Stormfall may seem casual and can attract casual players, but it's actually a hardcore and challenging game that requires dedication and effort. We at Plarium truly admire our top players and leagues for their persistence and loyalty to Stormfall. The amount of work some Stormfallers put into the game in incredible.

Everything is real life. And more people than you think, my Lord.And we are happy to provide them with the opportunity to utilize their problem solving abilities, while playing the game and having fun with their league mates.

I am new here and I don't have a clue what you're talking about.

A dumb ass question. I have Google Drive but haven't done much with it at all. How do I get the linked spreadsheet into my Drive? Is it just copy and paste or should there be a button somewhere that I'm not seeing?

Okay. Ignore that first dumb question, I figured it out. 

Now the next dumb question. "You will have to authorize your copy to use the buttons. These buttons are necessary for the spreadsheet to work (sorry)"

How do I "authorize" my copy?

You definitely do not want to download to your local machine and load it in excel as the scripts will not work nor will many of the formulae.  The spreadsheet is only usable on Google Drive.   To do so, simply copy it to your own google drive (via drag drop, ctrl-c/ctrl-v, or however you normally copy files) and open up your copy.  It should ask you if you want to authorize scripts - just answer yes and you should be good to go.

• Fixed a number of data errors   
  
• Added Reavers to Offensive BG unit list   
  
• Recalculated unit efficiency for BGs to be resources/min   
  
• Changed scripts to default to barbarian instead of archer for defensive BGs Inf/Cav   
  
• Refactored "Remaining Balance" so that it shows what level BG will currently cause a payout   
  
• Added resource Win/Loss ratios to bank   
  
• Added tracking of attack and defense ratings win/loss ratios   
  
• Updated instructions   
  
• Added valuation for sapphires for calculation purposes
•    (note you can change the value - I have it set to 750 gold/iron/or food per sapphire. Based on being able to buy 30k for 40 sapphires)
