What's One Beginner Mistake You Wish You Had Avoided?

I've recently been getting more into Sparta: War of Empires and realised how easy it is to waste resources early on.

Looking back, what's the one mistake you made as a beginner that you'd tell every new player to avoid?

Was it upgrading the wrong buildings, spending resources too quickly, choosing the wrong troops, or something else?

I'd love to hear your tips and experiences

I'm pretty new myself, and my main regret is wasting all the free Drachmas and speed-ups they give you during the tutorial phase. I used them on low-level resource buildings just because I was impatient. Wish someone had told me to hoard them for higher-level Agreement upgrades and troop training later on!
