It doesn't help that it there appears to be a new kingdom created every day. If so that means that over 4000 towns are created everyday.
There is an option to kick towns out of your stronghold area. There should be an option for a kingdom to kick out towns that have been inactive for over 53 weeks. They could be sent to Hades.
The programmers can easily put in a Hades kingdom 10,000 x 10,000 wide, enough for 100,000,000 towns.
The jarls in the kingdom would collect evict tokens and send them to a town. Once there were enough tokens sent to a town and that town had been inactive for 53 weeks the town would be sent to Hades.
Yes both of these replies are great ideas, for the cities lvl 1-20 there should be a sliding scale of removing the inactive cities from kingdoms with a sliding scale of inactivity, ex: lvl 1-5 cities should be removed after 4 months inactivity, lvl 6-12 cities removed after 10months of inactivity, and lvl 13-20 cities removed after being inactive for over 1 year(Modify the game contract to include this clause). Any city lvl 21 and above should be shifted to the fore-mentioned Hades kingdom. Create a huge kingdom just for the sake of these high lvl inactive cities in which active players can teleport to using relocates and returns in between the global competitions(cvc's kvks, kvk fury & jotunheim) while allowing any of these inactive cities placed in this huge kingdom that return to activity an automatic relocation to their old kingdom. By creating such a "No Mans Land" or "Hades" or kingdom you can create a new global competition event(Maybe named Raiders Voyage or something) between the kingdoms in which all kingdoms have the option to enter this new area(this could be compared to the vikings raids conducted by the 'pagans' in Europe in the past) in the off days between their fore-mentioned global competitions to loot the dead cities, create traps and battle each other for rewards(maybe create a ranking/reward system for the top 10 clans that manage to loot the most resources and kill the most enemies converted into points(ex;1point for every 1000 rss looted from the dead cities and points for enemies killed from the active participating cities as well). Doing this will give players the option of participating in a fun new competition rather than being bored in between their global competitions. This will not only increase the player activity during off days, but will also reduce the amount of dead cities allowing dead kingdoms to come back to life on a smaller scale. It will also reduce the stress on the servers and tempt the players whose cities are inactive to come back to playing this game. Maybe also send all the inactive players whose emails are available in your database an email explaining the new competition so they know their options. The lore could revolve around how the Vikings successfully sailed into the land we now call Russia. Vikings then took slaves from this land. People in Eastern Europe are called Slavs --where we get the word slaves -- to this day. Sailing through Eastern European rivers, the Vikings made their way to the Mediterranean Sea.
There are multiple reasons why there are inactive towns, and it is unknown to us why they do not remove them, presumably they are happy with the situation, otherwise they might've done something about it.
Would you be happy moving to a kingdom where you would be so far behind those that had been playing there for years at the most?
It's blight.
You go into a Kingdom and 90 percent of the towns are abandoned. Wtf? The inactive clans are starting to add up, too.
This seriously needs to be dealt with by Plarium.
Kingdom after Kingdom feels like a ghost town with one or two clans that are active that may have more than 50 members in it.
It's not just a couple of Kingdoms....it's A LOT of them!
Then you got the Bully Kingdoms on the other hand. You know what I mean. Huge, powerful clans that control the Kingdom thru bullying. Forget about farming for resources...you can't. You get hit every freaking time you try. Whether it be farming for gold, silver, lumber or food....you get hit.
