Hero's Energy
How do I get my hero's energy to increase without purchasing a package? I used a free boost but either it didn't apply or it was a one shot use. I'm new to the game and trying to figure things out.

You can get lucky from the Chest of Loki, while yielding or by attacking invaders.
Also check your clan store for energy regen boosts.
You can also upgrade through knowledge tree and by leveling your hero.

Boosts are temporary. Knowledge and Hero skills upgrades are permanent.

Hi, I used the energy boosts but my energy still doesn't go up.. does it go up by itself eventually or do we need to buy it?

It goes up very slow. If you look at you energy bar in the town menu, the time in there tells you when it will be full again. Restoration armors and learning along with buffs can increase the speed.
