chances are they had an ally who done a siege defence and your opponant sent troops to thier sh and scored that way,you will not get any notification of a siege commencing if it is your opponants ally's siege

Thanks for input Dog, makes sense. I did keep eye on their Alliance, but must have missed that Siege! Still, my weak lvl 33 enemy with 28B influence, didn't lose one/1 his troops in lvl 4 Siege! They must have plenty practise doing this.🙂

If enemy cvc participates in a seige with their alliance you do not get a notification ... which I think if alliance has a seige we should get notification.

And you only know if he loses troops if you noted how many troops he had lost before the seige ... cuz you do not get points for the troops he loses to plarium troops.

it is almost impossible to do a seige and not lose a troop ... if anyone has experienced this please let me know ...

You are not the first to mention this,and probably won't be the last.

Even when you have the insight,it's difficult  to watch everything all the time, and if you are in a different time zone to them, all they have to do is pick a time you are potentiallly asleep, which if you are as indicated a solo player,(you wrote 'I', not 'We' didn't set siege),is much easier to do.

if the strongest player/s in the clan send a few M lower tier troops as a meat wall these troops will defend weaker players t6-t7 troops,it is usually a lot easier for a bigger player to retrain the lower tier troops

example if the largest player/s can send 60m troops per march if the send say 10m t4-t5 and the rest of thier troops t7 or t8 the  lower tier troops should be the only troops to get killed (depending on other factors such as the level of jot march and  the players overall strength)

So.

Your opponent has an ally.

The ally ran a siege.

Your opponent sent reinforcements to the ally's siege and killed a small number of Jotunn troops thereby gaining a handful of points in three categories.

The ally sent some lower tier troops which absorbed losses and your opponent lost no troops.

Many thanks for the extra advice WDY, Dog and John. I understand what happened now, but not happy enemy won CvC on what seems like a backdoor tactic, especially as I initially scored big on the other 3 categories. Live and Learn 🙂

If you can even get one attack in on the SH siege, you can often "steal" a category. This will force them to win one of the other 3 non combat categories.

You don't want significantly to increase your opponents' points total and just a small number of unanswered points will win the killing troops in an attack category.

You don't want to greatly raise your opponents' point total, because winning the killing soldiers in an attack category just requires a minimal amount of unanswered points. 

Because you won't be notified when a siege by your opponent's ally starts, it's possible that your opponent sent soldiers to the ally's stronghold and scored by performing a siege defence.
