I agree, this is indeed deeply annoying. For OvO it's called 'Citadel Bombing' - when transformations, studies, and buildings, are timed to complete -just- prior to event end.
There is a similar effect at the start of each event - start training, yielding, whatever, to conclude -just- after event start. e.g. 3.5M Silver yield concluding just after KvKr start would provide a 35M point jump start. If every member of your order started all their marches in time to effect this ... the impact can be substantive.
So, when you have the opportunity to start training on the last day of an event, reduce the slider from max so that things complete by 00h00z. Or that things completed 00h00z + 1d + ~1h + % - just after new event starts. [00h00z for event start/end time, +1d to get into next event rather than in between, +1h so VIP Boost doesn't conclude things prematurely, + % to allow for order mate's help.]
To see what's going on in the current event, how you lost, how you're doing, go into the event, e.g.
Go to the 2nd tab:
Click Tournament statistics:
You then see how each side achieved the points that they did. Scroll down:
I expect you will see on yours that M's of points where achieved for Building and/or Study completion.
e.g. Palace Build.
CAVEAT 1: These are event total counts, not per day counts. You cannot tell from these numbers how many were accomplished that day - and it is the daily total that determines a round's winner. So the numbers above are only accurate for that before the 2nd day of the event starts. For the 2nd and 3rd days, you have to have noted these totals at the start of that day, then subtract the current values from that. [I have a REQ in the support forum to address this.]
CAVEAT 2: These numbers are k-wide numbers for KvK/r, you cannot evaluate how your order got their points, here. For OvO you can. The Allies event tab will show you how your order members are performing, but that does not show you how they got there. e.g. Training vs resurrection vs yielding vs building vs studying vs ...
On days light today, with Study and Boost game bonuses, you can start a long study, then boost it to conclude before the end of the next major event.
Just remember - order help with builds and studies reduce the -outstanding- time by 1% each.
Since Boost game bonuses seem to occur at least twice a week, you can start that long Build or Study, then wait. Give it a couple of days for the order help to take effect, -then-. [30% of 100w > 30% of 100d.] When the next Boost game bonus comes along, boost things -then- to conclude during the next major event.
