Doesn't seem worthwhile boosting ANYTHING if you gotta sit around for weeks waiting for a bunch of feathers :-(

In the end, you will need everything of everything.

If you have them (boosts), and are going to use them eventually anyways, may as well used them judiciously to at least keep yourself moving forward,  however slowly, in the mean time.

Judiciously, so you keep around what you need for when the birds do reappear.

You are going to have to accept though, that in the end, you are going to kill hundreds, if not thousands of Alphas. They have jewels you want, and are the only source for most of the ones you really, really, want! (24 of, even.)

e.g. Fluorite, for training speed, from Bloody Duke. Or Bird Feathers also Bloody Duke. Could even get both from the same kill.

By the time you collect all the special jewels from them that you're going to want, you can probably just build close to 98% of anything you want due to the material you gathered along the way by hitting alphas. Inevitably there's one or a few fiddly bits you still need.

So, focus on completing the Assailant studies - top priority.
