Coming soon - Capture the Flag!

Coming soon - Capture the Flag!

Capture rival League Flags and defend your own to earn Rewards!

Your attention, Lords and Ladies!

A very special Event is coming to the plains of Darkshine soon – the Capture the Flag Tournament!

Your League must strive to capture as many Flags from your rivals as possible. To capture flags, you must successfully attack rival League Fortresses, with each Flag captured yielding a certain number of Tournament Points. The more Flags your League collects, the more Points your League shall earn.

To participate in the Tournament, your League must have a Fortress of Level 3 or higher (when the Tournament begins), which must have been constructed at least 24 hours prior to the start of the Tournament. If your League does not yet have a Fortress, talk to your League Marshal immediately! It should also be noted that Leagues in the process of being dismissed are not able to take part in the Tournament.

All Leagues shall be divided into Tiers according to their positions in the Rankings when the Tournament starts. Each League shall receive a Flag, which will be located at their Fortress. The value of a League’s Flag (in Tournament Points) depends on the Tier of the League that owns it.

At the end of the Tournament, the Top 10 Leagues in each Tier shall each be rewarded with valuable bonuses - Buffs and Debuffs! Buffs have a positive effect on your League, whereas Debuffs are negative Effects that can be assigned to rival Leagues. Now you can put rival Leagues back in their place!

Furthermore, the Top 3 Leagues in each Tier shall receive a special Protection Reward, which limits the amount of Debuffs that can be assigned to them. Leagues that finish in first place in their Tiers will win the most powerful Protection Reward, guaranteeing them total immunity from Debuffs!

Sharpen your swords, Lords and Ladies! There are Battles to be won and Flags to be claimed!

This event already appeared on the mobile version. I've only seen two of the buffs/debuffs so far. One was used against my league to decrease all resource production of all league members by 20%. The second one was the buff my league applied to counteract part of it, which increased all resource production by 10% for all league members. These buffs/debuffs also seem to last a week.

I've also heard about similar buffs/debuffs for defense and offense (i.e. a debuff might decrease off/def by 5-10% for an enemy league and a buff might increase the same amount). Not sure how much will crossover and do the same.

I guess the base idea is good, but the execution is bad because of the state of league fortress's. Once at a certain level its more or less forget about them.

Would been better to have "neutral" objectives to hold. The more of them you can hold, the more flags you would get, and your league can only stretch "so far" really, so there would be a lmit on how many you could hold and keep. the more you stretch, the more voulnerable you get for someone to come take the objective from you. It would give more room for leagues of all sizes to take part rather than concede to the fact, such a tournament is for the big boys.

Look for owner benefits of current Fortress. Look again. Nothing!

So some have to be changed. Pushing players to fight and loose troops will bring changes.

Talk about tiers is fog. While stronger opponent has fill its power against weaker opponent this game will be unbalanced.

When stronger opponent will attack weaker opponent with 20-80 of its real power (like in some games other than Plarium) then weaker opponent can really make big damage to bully if it want to risk this game will go to balanced goal. Not arrive just go.

Game needs changes but this isn't promising, for now.

I hope you will give us a lot more detail as to how this will work?  Fortress's at a "safe level" aren't defended, so if the idea is to kill defense to acquire a flag, it won't work. The rewards will have to make it worth while to defend.  I need more information about the "tiers", and how that will work, because smaller leagues won't stand a chance against larger leagues.

Some of you may have seen this Tournament in Rise of Balur. But we made some changes this time after we received our players' feedback. So it will be a bit different.

Each League that is more that 24 hours old and has a League Fortress of a level 3 and higher, can participate.

When the Tournament starts, all Leagues will be divided into Tiers and will get a corresponding type of the Flag.

All Leagues can capture Flags of:

1) their own type,

2) 1 type below,

3) all types above.

After each successful attack, your League Fortress will get a protection against attacks:

1) 1 hour for all other Leagues,

2) 2 hours for the last attacker League,

3) your League will still be able to attack other Fortresses.

4) if you attack another League Fortress, that League will be able to attack you even if you have a 1-2 hour protection.

It says clearly "successfully attack", not "successfully downgrade", so I assume that means even level 5 and 8 fortresses are not safe.

I'm scared that real target of this update are Fortress level 5 and level 8. After almost all who ever planned to raise level of fortress finished with upgrades, usually sacrificing sapps (real money), time is for 'reward'. I expect that we'll be penalized with some negative outcome every time when someone will attack empty (protected) fortress. Soon or later we will have to fill fortress and new needs for real money will come.

I hope that I'm wrong.
You could be dead right that money will need to be spent.

For me all these tourneys are a kind of deterrent for me to play more than 15mins max /session. So hard, nearly impossible, to plan ahead of time, when to logon and so forth. So, I'll just enjoy the view. :)

So what you are saying is that the top leagues just have a few fortresses to attack? That could be very nasty for all the leagues that are in the second Tier. If not some good alliences they will be attacked on an hourly basis.

"At the end of the Tournament, the Top 10 Leagues in each Tier shall each be rewarded with valuable bonuses"

This tells me that the top tier is going to be massively unbalanced, what hope is there for any league outside the top 20 competing with those inside of it?

We need more information on tiering in order to decide if its worth taking part.

Lord Almericus,

All Leagues shall be divided into Tiers according to their positions in the Rankings when the Tournament starts.

Another question is what kind of mess is this going to make of league alliances? We won't be attacking allies, so targets are going to be extremely limited.

What will the range of these tiers be?

1-10 is ruled out as is 1-20 as that would mean 50% of that tier would be considered "winners"

1-30 returns 30% and so on, can you start to see the inbalance already?

Lets all be allies with each other and put a spanner in the works (this would be funny in another topic)

I don't have such information. Tiers will be formed when the Tournament starts.

There will still be a downgrade protection for level 5 and 8, yes? So while the flag can be taken, the level can not?

Can we get a list of what the buffs/debuffs will do? Also, is there a limit of how many can be applied to a league if they aren't in the top 3?

They can have positive and negative Effects. Among other things: Unit speed, Unit attack or defense, Resource production, Experience Points gained in battles.

5 Buffs and 5 Debuffs = 10 total

4) I mentioned League alliances before, and I can see this being a big issue since setting the leagues into Tiers limits the targets to nearly zero for some leagues. I agree that it isn't fair for a large league to be able to steamroll a smaller one, but could it be possible to set neutral targets instead of the Fortresses?
Unfortunately, it's impossible to set neutral targets.

This is a violation of agreement. When Plarium made fortress it claimed that level 5 and 8 are protected. No one, never, said that fortress can have negative outcome for players (spec. levels 5 and 8). Some players (including me) spent sapphires to gain something good for league - not bad!

If this isn't fraud how will you call it?

Levels 5 and 8 are protected against downgrade.

They won't be downgraded during the event, or later. We are not planning to change that rule. Debuffs are not so scary as most players think. Only 5 Debuffs can be applied to 1 League, and only 2 of the kind. And they don't have a great power over the League. For example, Defense debuff works only with one kind of Units. But you will have 3 more types which won't be affected.
