Fortress mechancis.

How is DEF at a fortress  calcualted? If you have like 100+ armies there and every one have their own boosters, equipment, bonus's and what not. Wouldn't that require a lot of cycles just for one battle? From a "lazy" dev point of view, pool everything and do it simple seems the most obvious and would remove a lot of variables.

Each person's defense gets that persons bonuses.  So the power you see in the recall screen is the amount your units will contribute to the fight.  The total amounts are added together to fight as one army and the battle calculations are done off that, and any losses are applied evenly to each persons troops as a % of their total.

so if you are trying to do the math based on a screen shot of someone elses embassy statistics its impossible.

you have to account for

Hero boosts

lost arts boosts

dragon boosts

black market boosts

50% wild card boosts have to be thought about too.

Yep.  You can estimate the average boost level of a league, but it's impossible to get an exact number.  You can get very close though with some more advanced math using a test hit of sufficient size, but it usually doesn't matter since +-25% isn't often enough to change whether a league will decide to hit a target or not (especially with the big hammers running around now).

Most people don't run the 50% boost, so unless the league has a few massive coiners it's unlikely that a significant portion of the defense has that on.  Defensive dragon boosts require the special activation chips, they can't be run continuously, so it's safe to assume if they don't know the attack is coming most won't have these activated.  Hero and lost arts boosts can be estimated based on how good the league (for a strong league I'd assume 25% on hero defense boost and 60% from level 30 lost arts).
