When im paying to play a game i expect the chat to be working , this game is going downhill very fast , why cant plarium spend some of our hard earned cash on actually fixing the game instead of lining their pockets thinking of new ways to extract our hard earned cash

If you edit your Castle, chat disappears. Only way to get it back is to refresh the game itself. I am not sure if this is the case for you OP.
There is another possibility. If the server was reset all chats are cleared. The best way to tell is simply enter Test.
If you can see the result, odds are the server was reset and the cache that stored the chat has been reset.
