I had 423 level 1 Crystal Coffers...I was attempting to open the coffers in the Sanctum, all of them, and no shards were received...

Hello! 

According to the logs of the game, you've opened more than 445 chests in a bulk, all the Crystals were added to the Sanctum of Shards as well.
