You engaged in battle, and some of your units died.  I'm not seeing where the bug is.  The winner in a battle doesn't get to just kill the entire enemy army without losing anything.  If you want to take fewer losses you should send a champion with better bonuses, as this will give your units more power and make them harder to kill.
