Hi! According to the recent investigation, there is no such bug in the game. 

2 things could have happened: either you purchased the item and did not apply it in time (the case that INIGO MONTOYA described) or the request to recall the troops did not reach the server and units kept moving (due to the unstable internet connection).

As mentioned before, there are no bugs with this feature. We have checked it multiple times.

Your units kept moving and the item was not deducted. This means that the item was not used.

Since no bugs were involved, I am unable to provide any kind of compensation.
