4. Haven't had a chance to test this ingame yet, so perhaps someone knows: if you trade via galley, and become FB friends while the galleys are en route, does your travel time get cut by a factor of 24 (or at all)?

1. Yes, speed upgrades and bonuses apply only to one's own ships.
   
   
2. Only by coordinates (or in the coalition member list if one knows the coalition name)

4. Don't know since I'm not logged on via FB, my guess would be no since most upgrades and bonuses (of all types and kinds) are applied at the time an order is issued.
