1. I'm not sure about this one got to admit. The reasonable would be to get the medals and tools from coalition missions and coalition tournaments. Still I'm not sure about that you do if you haven't placed your capital yet.

2. If your capital is downgraded after the upgrade has finished you get 50% of the tools you spent back. In that case you would take 500 tools back. If your capital is downgraded during the upgrade you will get 75% of the tools you spent back. In that case it would be 750 tools.

3. You capital can't be downgraded from level 5 as it is a milestone level. So no worries about your disciplines at level 5 since they won't be affected.

3: Suppose your capital is at level 10 and you are currently researching a military discipline towards level 10. If the capital gets downgraded while that discipline is in process of researching, does the research of the discipline towards level 10 get stopped, or will it finish?

4: Lastly, I want to confirm the following: Suppose the capital is at level 10 and a military discipline has  finished researching to level 10. If the capital then gets downgraded, will you always maintain that discipline at level 10?

3. Discipline update won't be cancelled in such case. 

4. The discipline don't need to be upgraded again to level 10 if the capital is downgraded. But you won't be able to use the level 10 discipline if your capital is downgraded you will be able to use only level 9 discipline. If your capital is downgraded to level 8 you will be able to use only level 8 discipline etc. When you upgrade your capital to level 10 you will be able to use level 10 disciplines again.

I have edited my answer since I made a mistake in the first place!

So regarding #3 don't worry since discipline update won't be cancelled in such case.
