Good morning Trajan,

AFAIK the colour background of city names are:

Green: coalition member, ally or similar, including player whom one has recently sent resources.

Red: opponent, a member of a coalition at war with one's own, a player one has recently raided, and similar.

Brown: neutral, none of the above.

Personally, I only check on city name colours when raiding bots or abandoned cities which do not fit on my contacts list. A red highlight, for example is a good sign that I have recently raided the city and it is still within the 50k weekly limit.

Got to admit I don't use my contacts list! I never raid from there I keep an excel file with my (inactive I might add) farms!

Let's hope I'm not on anyone's contact list!

also if you want to change someone from red back to brown, send them a res galley then cancel it before it arrives, you wont lose the res but it clears them off your list :)

Well yeah I know the feeling! My abandoned cities list is quite large too so the excel is one very good solution for situations like that! 

By the way I don't think I have many bot cities around or maybe I haven't noticed them. Who knows!

you are correct, I meant green, my bad for posting when half asleep, been away with work most of the week averaging 4 hours sleep a night LOL!
