So once again im writing this thread! Often im asked what is my troop size supposed to be for my lvl. This reminds me of the question what comes first, the chicken or the egg? In my opinion I think lower level players should work on upgrading their cities and res. Then worry about how big your army is. I have heard other people say different.
This should be interesting to see the replies on what other players think!

This is a very wise argument. Though there is no actual answer to this.
For example; For players that are above 80lvl usually the normal is at least 20m off/def. Though have seen some with huge numbers that are less than 80 level and vice versa. :) Though, by logic, the more army you got, the bigger fights you participate in, which means a huge amount of exp.
I guess only Plarium could give us that answer by reporting their databases which I doubt^^
Plarium could tell us what the averages are, but they can't tell us what an individual archon does to develop. It is that opinion, experience and insight from developing, and potentially losing then redeveloping, that army which is what the developing archon needs.
My opinion is that the bigger the game you hunt, or hunts you, the more power you need!
alts of these who knew about position exploit have around 200mil armies and were like lvl 60-70, only from Persians XP
anyway levels are easiest gain by playing persians
if u see high lvl player he is either playing game from start or simply doing Persians 24/7, some of these Persian guys have only about 20mil army and nothing more, living from payout to payout
