The rank is purely role-play inside your coalition and does't award anything automatically.

Your hegemon can promote you depending on your valor and motivation so you get a better rank, only to show your dedication and fidelity. Being  a scholar removes nothing from your rights to get coalition advantages.

Only exceptions are :

- If you've been in the coalition, and whatever your rank, you can't get anything specific from the coalition (orichalcum, coalition tournaments rewards, ability to attack other pantheons) until your probation time of a full 7 days in the coalition is elapsed. But you still get the additional daily coalition divine quests, that are not specific to a given coalition.

- 3 ranks are actually special : Hegemon (of course), Polemarch and Standard Bearer (though they also all suffer from the 7 days probation time) as it allows them to grant orichalcum rights in the pantheons and to lead 3 players coalition attacks.

- To be able to collect orichalcum from a pantheon, in addition to having completed the full 7 days presence in the coalition, you must be individually allowed by the hegemon or a polemarch.
